I feel like music magazines today give way too much press to bands that are already established, and don't give enough attention to the many great bands that might just be starting out, or might not have a big enough following to land the cover of a magazine. So, I decided to make a magazine called "mixtape" and was all about giving newer bands a chance. It would also contain all sorts of music news and such. For my design, I e-mailed two bands (Malajube and Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin) and asked them if I could use some high-res photos for a journalism project. They both agreed, and this is the design I came up with. Fun!
