While brainstorming for this project, I found myself sick and tired of staring at my roomate's copies of Seventeen, Teen Vogue, and CosmoGirl scattered throughout the room. All the plastic, shiny, perfect faces smiling back at me from between lines of bright pink font just got to me, but instead of building a bonfire in the backyard I channelled my frustration into this project. I decided to use this picture of my sister because of it's nebulous blurry quality rather than choosing a clear cut picture like you would usually see on a magazine. You're not quite sure what it is at first, but the colors catch your eye. I pulled the color for the banner from the green light below her chin and the teasers' color from the splashes of light on her hair and shoulder. I called it Ink because if I had a magazine it focus on making your mark on the world and originality rather than lip gloss.
